specialist in marine engineering announces it has been awarded a contract with SMS Towage | MJR Power and automation
MJR – headquartered in Stockton-on-Tees – announced that it has been awarded the contract for the supply and installation of its industry-leading marine automation platform – MAP-OE â¢ – for installation on the SMS Roman tugboat.
Chosen for its user-friendly interface and redundant system architecture, MAP OE from MJRMT The alarm and monitoring package offers superior operational functionality for continuous monitoring and diagnostics, as well as MJR’s ability to provide life-saving service and support from its UK headquarters.
The contract will see MJR Power and Automation provide the complete alarm and monitoring system upgrade on the SMS Roman tugboat, including the removal of the existing system, the installation of new alarm and bridge panels with HMIs , entrance panels and alarms located in the engine room, the ship’s gangway and the chef’s cabin while retaining the existing instrumentation and sensors. Work is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of this year, including sea trials with marine classification society RINA for final approval.
