The School of Ocean and Earth Sciences (SOES) is seeking to recruit a 2-year Lecturer to contribute to teaching at undergraduate and masters level with expertise in marine biology, but with a potential focus on organism physiology and/or marine conservation.
SOES is based at the National Oceanography Center Southampton on the Waterfront Campus of the University of Southampton. Based in the 60-person Marine Biology and Ecology Research Group (MBERG), you will join a dynamic team of SOES biologists, ecologists, oceanographers and geoscientists delivering high-quality programs at undergraduate levels. and postgraduate. MBERG applies state-of-the-art observation, experimentation and analytical techniques to address the consequences of natural environmental changes and human activities on marine organisms and ecosystems.
Your contribution will be essential to the delivery, assessment and support of students in the marine biology group of programs taught at the School of Ocean and Earth Sciences. You have teaching experience at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level. Experience teaching in the field and analyzing data for a wide range of students would be desirable. You will hold a doctorate (including thesis deposit or awaiting defence) or an equivalent professional qualification.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 2 years starting September 1st2022 or as soon as possible thereafter.
