INS Shivaji Marine Engineering Center Recognized by Ministry of Skills Development

In a unique recognition for a military institution, the INS Shivaji Marine Engineering Center of Excellence has been recognized by the Ministry of Skills Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE). The certificate of recognition was presented on Tuesday by MSDE Secretary Rajesh Aggarwal to INS Commander Shivaji, Commodore Arvind Rawal at the ministry’s headquarters, Shram Shakti Bhavan in New Delhi.

The Marine Engineering Center of Excellence was established at INS Shivaji in 2014 with a broad mandate of inducing niche technologies for naval applications, undertaking quality research in collaboration with academic and research institutes and renowned development and providing engineering solutions for the field level. problems. The center was recognized after a thorough assessment of the infrastructure and facilities available at INS Shivaji and the training provided to enhance the skills of Indian Navy personnel, friendly foreign navies and the wider ecosystem.

“Recognition as a Center of Excellence by MSDE is the first of its kind for any military organization and an indication of the establishment’s sustained efforts in skills and technology development.” said a press release from INS Shivaji.
