Crew room at RNAS Culdrose in memory of Julian ‘Doo’ Facer

A crew room at RNAS Culdrose has been refitted and dedicated to the memory of a beloved aircraft manager.

Warrant Officer Julian ‘Doo’ Facer served in the Royal Navy for 34 years, after joining in 1978, and worked at Culdrose, Yeovilton and Portland Air Stations, the Falkland Islands and on HMS Intrepid, all the three Invincible class aircraft carriers, RFA Argus and HMS Ocean.

He lived in Penzance and died in 2019.

‘Doo’s Lounge’ was officially opened at the Royal Naval School of Flight Deck Operations as her family watched from home via a live link.

School commanding officer Lt. Commander Scott Harding said everyone misses Doo Facer, adding: a loyal oppo and friend, a loving husband and a devoted father.

“Those who served with Doo named this room ‘Doo’s Lounge’ in his memory. It was done with the knowledge that many will enjoy this space in the presence of good company.
