Crew members aboard ship survive fire in East Java waters

Shortly after receiving a report that the fishing vessel had caught fire in the waters, we sent out a distress call to passing vessels to help evacuate crew members.

Probolinggo, E Java (ANTARA) – All 25 crew members aboard a motor boat survived after it caught fire in waters off the coast of Paiton in East Java’s Probolinggo district on Tuesday evening.

Probolinggo Harbor Master’s Office and Port Authority spokesman Herman Yulianto said his team sent out a distress call after learning of the fire incident.

“Shortly after receiving a report that the fishing vessel had caught fire in the waters, we sent out a distress call to passing vessels to help evacuate crew members,” he said. he points out.

He said four tugs – Banyak, JKW Pelita 1, Intan Megah 20 and Bomas Potenza – helped evacuate the ill-fated ship’s crew and douse the flames.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.
