BUNKER JOBS: Fortescue seeks Marine Engineering Manager in Perth

Australian green energy company Fortescue Future Industries is looking to hire a Director of Marine Engineering at Perth.

The company is looking for candidates with an engineering degree and at least 20 years of experience in the offshore oil and gas industry, he said in a job posting on LinkedIn Last week.

The role will focus on the development and testing of vessels powered by green fuels.

The announcement lists the following key responsibilities for the role:

  • Develop and lead an upcoming team of marine specialists/engineers and/or contractors in concept development and subsequent detailed design engineering for FFI Marine projects

  • Provide technical guidance to the project management team with all engineering related work in progress

  • Proactively achieve ambitious corporate goals

  • Develop technical specifications to meet specific project objectives

  • Interpret, manage and approve technical drawings, documents, specifications and scopes

  • Resolving technical and design issues

  • Provide advice regarding project budget, cash flow and schedule for existing and future projects

  • Liaise with a range of key stakeholders on all technical aspects of projects

  • Establish and govern best practice engineering standards and specifications for FFI project teams

  • Be the primary point of contact for all communications with stakeholders regarding all engineering requirements

  • Managing risk and security within the team

  • Provide regular updates to the Marine Projects Manager, including work progress, risks and priorities
